What we're up to

  • Here's what Nationals meant for Riley.

Riley is a leader, and as he tells you, Nationals helped him see better what he had to do, and what comes next

  • Speaking up at Nationals

Giving students a voice was the theme of Nationals this year, andCity students did their part. Over the four day period, City students spoke 40 different times. Our best results were with Riley Wilson, who spoke 11 times in Congress and with KevinPottinga who made it to the fourth of six rounds in Impromptu.

  • Meet the Team/2

Seems I forgot the most important part, a picture of Riley. In action.

  • Meet the Team /2

Riley is one of our fiery debaters AND a natural leader. Active in local politics, a member of the Mayor's Youth Council, next year he will be taking a leadership role in building the statewide Congressional Debate program using the experiences he will pick up at Nationals. He will be the first in the State ever to compete in Congressional Debate at the National Tournament, thanks to your support.

  • Meet the Team/1

Ray is part of our one-two punch debate team. An athlete, and a singer, next year she will lead our Public Forum debate team (when she and partner Emma are not tearing it up in Policy). Your support sends her to debate camp where she'll grow in confidence, skill, passion and future leadership.

  • The next step past Lucy's

Thanks so much for heading over to Lucy's Cafe on our Summer Scholarship Day. It was delicious success, but we still need to do more. This summer fundraiser will help us cover the significant costs our students face for Nationals and for attending one of the country's best debate camps.
